Pidurangala Rock is located in a natural forest zone, so wild elephants may sometimes roam near the trail or roads. especially early in the morning or after dark.
- Do not walk alone in the dark (early sunrise hikes can be risky).
- Avoid walking on foot from Sigiriya to Pidurangala before sunrise or after 6 PM.
- If you’re visiting early, use a tuk-tuk or vehicle, not by foot.
- Stay alert and avoid loud noises if you suspect elephants are nearby.
