History of All Saints’ Church
The church was built in 1871 during British rule in Sri Lanka (then Ceylon). It was constructed on the site of a former court house, and some of the court’s original features remain in the building’s design.
All Saints’ Church was designed by James George Smither, a well-known British architect. The church reflects typical Gothic Revival style with pointed arches, stained glass windows, and detailed stone carvings.
